Dull Steering
I recently chucked in buddy club N+, 22mm rear sway bar and a strut bar in my EK hatch, the car corners much flatter now however the steering is still very dull, not sharp or precise at all just like the original car. It is quite disappointing; there is no dramatic change that makes me feel like it’s a different car to drive and the way it handles is just not very inspiring.
What can be done to improve my steering? I’ve got a few things in my mind, adding a 26mm front swaybar, do a wheel alignment and corner balancing, take out the power steering. Am I on the right track? Any suggestions?
by the way the tyre I am using is yoko 539.
-
Steering rack bushes, harder sidewall tyres?
-
add more caster.
try the whiteline kit.
-
whiteline actually told me not to worry too much about a castor kit, a bit confused..
-
tyre pressures ok?
i dont understand why whiteline would not recommend their own products?
front caster kit should improve steering response allot.
-
Lighter rims should also increase the response.

i put in a front swaybar into my crx. it makes it understeer slightly more cos the weight gets sent back to the inside wheel, but makes the car mores settled around corners and with fast steering changes.
I'm keen on adding castor to improve steering respronse. It worked well on my skyline....
-
pressure always set at around 32psi, rims are volk racing not heavy at all...
I would say car's steering response at best only 10-15% better than the full stock car.
might have to talk to a few more suspension shops...

Typical setup for EF, EG and EK Hondas AFAIK is to aim for around 5 degrees
of caster, 1-2 degrees of front camber, 0-1 degrees of rear camber, 0 front toe and 1-2mm of rear toe-out. You want a front bar 2-4 mm larger than the
rear depending on how much over/under-steer you like. Just had whiteline
replace my rear adjustable bar and with my BC N+ the turn-in is _very_
sharp. Your symptoms are almost certainly lack of caster.
-
dude as soon as you take out the PS it will be precise!!!!
-
Take your ps out as I told you before.
-
hahah ps is definitely going out, if I wasn't so busy recently it woulda been out weeks ago, even thinking about ditching the aircon these days.
I just wanna know more ways to improve.
