Hey guys,
On behalf of a mate who is looking at buying an EM1 he'd like to know good points, ad points, maintenance, mods and just in general what they're like to drive and live with. If anyone knows anything PLEASE post it. Thanks :D

Since your new here.
There is a search function on the top right side. This topic has been covered many times.
Too many times to be honest.
Hey guys thanks I'll probably do my introduction some time later today.
Okay so i used search didn't work to well.
When purchasing an em1, my advise.
- Check body panels if they align properly. nb. Rear bumpers normally don't align perfectly due to sun damage. Check under boot and spare wheel area.
- Check rear wishbone, the amount of em1's I've inspected with this issue. You will clearly see the dodgy weld.
- Check how much shes spitting from the exhaust. Very common.
- Check for valve noise.
- Check passenger window condition - How slow is it going up.
- You would want to do a compression test, but thats up to you. Chances are rings are on their way out.
- Check to see if 3rd crunches in vtec.
- Bushings condition
- VIN check on carhistory or VEDA
Also just do your own normal checks. Interior condition, paint etc etc. This is what I've found in my search. I've owned 2 EM1s.
Biggest recommendation, the stock it is. The better. There's a few around cos they were good family cars. And you want one with the rear lip, not a tight em1 without the rear lip.
Goose sheeez mun.
I wasn't trying to be too much of a cheeky bugger m8
He has covered a lot above.
Don't forget to check the exterior front window seals, bring a magnet with you and check rear quarters (for bog), checking inside the wheel wells for damage and rust is advised too and if you're buying an EM1 at the very least, you want the center console to be EM1 correct.

On some EK involved in a smash (that I see at the wreckers) there is a bolt (that is welded to the car) missing/loose on the front camber arms also.
