If it is in between when the engine is cold, then it is fine. If you are worried, carry the spare oil in your boot.Quote:

Is that normal? Oil spilling out when u take the oil filter out?
cheers
Any differences if the car has oil cooler installed?
hehe yeah you should drain the oil before removing the filter, or at least remove some of the oil.Quote:

They dont make much difference during normal street use, its really only useful on the race track when ur engine is revving hard.Quote:

But it was on the jacks. Maybe it didnt drain all of it while the front being tilted up.
hmm
also i noticed the first time i started it, bits of oil spurted out of the exhaust.
is this normal?
cheers

yeh like bits of little spots hitting the garage door.
saw it happen in both my mates cars with big fart cans before also. Btw the civic also has a fart on on it :P
but yeh didnt really pay much attention as it seems to happen with big mufflers.
Dunno really... should i be worried?
cheers
Well it can be a sign of overfilling the oil. Did you check the dipstick oil level? If you overfill the oil, the oil can find its way into various parts of the engine its not supposed to be in, and come out of the exhaust.
Worn piston rings is another sign of oil exiting throught the exhaust.
nah the oil level is fine, its between the two holes in the dipstick.
The engine is probably just showing its age.
cheers
LOL, its not oil, its dirty water comong out the exhaust.
Our cars burn C8H10(Petorl) and O2(oxy) and produce H20 (water) and CO2(carbon dioxide) , also coz the burn isnt perfect u get some C (carbon) and CO (caron monoxide).
N e ways, this water usually leaves ur exhaust as steam, thus u never notice it. But, if you start ur cr cold, ur exhaust pipes are cold, and this steam condenses as water droplets in ur carbon covered piped, the rest of the gasses soon push out all this water, hence the black droplets on ur garage wall.
