Anyone know what style of wheel nuts these are??

Ok, i had these wheel nuts for my last set of rims. Basically this style was needed because the 'acorn' typical style was too wide to fit into the hole in the rim for the nut.

So these are skinnier to fit into the hole, and i think the contact point is a little different.. and u put the key in it to undo it (like a hex key):

so does anyone know what the style of nut this is, or know of any aftermarket brands/items in this style?

i think the term for them is 'small diameter' nuts

doesnt seem like many brands supply them

get some rays man, they cost a few dollars but are worth it.

i was after some similar nuts recently and looked at everything available form cheap nuts to super bling JDM/USDM lightweight nuts. imo rays are the best 'small diameter' lock nuts out there

i think the rays will be too wide because of their acorn style and the fact that they need a socket to go on the outside of the nut:

www.gorilla-auto.com seems to be a manufacturer of various styles of cheap wheel nuts...

here is a pretty much exact same style.. they are 'hex' nuts.. and this type is known as the ultra style lol

Rays are nice :thumbsup: they really arent that wide, the socket that comes wth it is for its lock nut, its pretty thin and 'just' fit the lock nut. unless ur wheels have some really tight fitment, Rays' a good option.

i've seen the muteki/ tuner style's in person, not that light but its definately thin enuf if it suits ur application.

getting some used rims shipped to me.. that will need real tight/small diameter nuts

i sold some rims that needed small diameter and lent the nuts with the rims.. just thought i would investigate because normal sized acorns have no chance of fitting

here are the old ones... note how tight the nuts are, probably a wide acorn style wouldnt even fit in there, maybe not enough thread would extrude to do them up as well

Try autobarn they have ones that do not look the same but are small in diameter. I had the same problem before. The hex ones have a tendency of breaking after time.

Autobarn sells them they come in black or silver, sorry don't have a pic. I just brought some for the GF's mags, cost $68 for a pack of 20 nuts with the key also.

just feed them to the squirrels and they'll chew the acorn down for ya... jk

Make sure you get the right types of nuts for the rims

For example, conical base, rounded base, flat base etc.
