I am currently having this issue in my eg sedan. I suspect the rear window seal, along the bottom. Check that out on yours. Unfortunately it's pretty impossible to get at easily
New ball joints should help, along with a steering alignment (duh), flush the p/s fluid. Other than that, you're looking at new tie-rod ends.
Tie-rod ends and ball joints are pains. It'd probably be...
If the ICM is gone, its most likely that the engine either will not start at all, or will start, but will not consistently keep firing. I.e. it could die at any moment even with throttle applied,...
Sounds much more like IACV to me. You said after a few goes it started an ran properly? If the IACV is (for example) closed and disconnected this will cause the engine to stall when cold.
This. You spend all your life and money fixing all the thousands of little things that wear out or break. And if you're like me, you're never happy with stock replacement and always buy racecar...
Hey boys and girls, does anybody have any idea where I can find a new clutch fork boot? I'm talking about the rubber boot that stops dirt getting into the transfer case where the clutch fork goes in....
Agreed. With that budget I'd stay OEM (unless race car...). And if you can find an OEM part that cheap? My rule of thumb for OEM standard replacement parts is buy them from a company with a name....
This has been covered somewhere else, but essentially you must have a "Centre High-Mount Stop Light". It doesn't have to be on the wing where the factory one was, but it must be mounted along the...
I have an EK4 engine (B16A2) in an EG sedan. Gets around 7-9L/100km depending on the situation. Usually mid 8s. I'm not sure of the weight difference between the EG sedan and an EK hatch though.
I bought an ebay short shifter. A "proper" one (the length from the centre ball joint to the lower pin joint is longer than the standard shifter), for somewhere round $40 mark. It does make shifting...
I bought a wrecked one sight unseen, not even 100% sure it was an EK4 for $350. Engine was bang on 172xxxks, and I'd say for your average car thats good with low 200s being still acceptable.

I had a go at sourcing brand new sensor connectors and things to make my own engine loom. Its pretty much impossible for small item quantities. If you've got enough money, somebody will make 10,000...
Also, the EG has an inline fuel filter already. It looks exactly like the red one in that ebay listing, except its usually black. Located just to the right of the brake booster, on the firewall.

Yeah I did it on my D15, worked great. Was a really old engine so the adjustment reduced valve slap somewhat, and restored a marginal amount of power (based on the "butt-dyno"). I haven't done it on...
Same here. I spent like three hours looking for a set the other day. But at the price people want for them.... no way. Plus yeah, I almost never have passengers in the back seat too.
