Update - The check engine light comes on when the car is started (longer than normal), and the goes away after a few minutes of driving, It occasionally came back on during driving. The last issue is...

Yeah i totally agree, he is right - and I had always planned to take it back, was just trying to see if anything could be tested during that weekend prior

That exact issue only happens when the engine is cold. The idle is rough when the engine is cold & press the accelerator.

Depending on how much of the spring was cut off, it has the potential to come off....

I am going to attempt to drill into the plug... I want a high quality job, and i know that if i just solder new speaker wire onto the factory wire i won't be happy!

I have gotten a multi-meter to the connector, and there is power getting to the switch.
As far as i can tell, all the fuses are intact.
