It was from the radiator not sealing against the cap. Picked up a second hand one and chucked it in and has fixed the problem.

tried a brand new cap from work today, still not holding pressure in.

ill be picking up a working radiator tonight.

Leave cap off for 10 mins and idle.
at the end I opened the bleed screw and waited till a constant stream of coolant was coming out, shut it then put the cap on

Nah motor was perfect, I ended up wiring ks and o2 and buying a patch cable to use the obd2 ecu which came with the engine with my obd1 eg

I still had to remove the immobiliser from my 97 obd2a vtir ecu

did the temp raise when you were moving or standstill? if it raises while you are stopped (eg at lights) it could be that you fan isnt coming on

im running a p75 chipped and i only had to run the heater from the shock tower to the ecu. if that helps?

i found the honda service manual 100x better than the haynes manual.

im fairly sure ek4/9's use a single harness from engine to ECU, as opposed to EG's and DC2's which use a two piece setup
