    REST your ECU - disconnect the NEGATIVE terminal of the battery for a short while (5 min or so) to clear codes.

    *correct me if wrong*

    the ECU is in the same place ( passenger kick panel) or under the passenger seat. The ECU light is located on the ECU , in the centre and will flash a code if needed.

    ive done 2 ECU tests on EKs - a EK1 and a EK4.

    The Wire is located in the same place. Try and look up inside the back of the glove box etc.

    Right near the rear engine mount - It has wires coming out of it.

    Or do u mean the ECU test thingy ?

    VSS = vehicle speed sensor. Its located ontop of the gearbox diff housing ~ pretty much right above where the 2 driveshafts meet in the middle. Check that its plugged in correctly...

    to add....most of these "diagnostic codes" are not known until you actually log onto the ECU via this DIY way or on a actual diagnostic tool.
    More so the point of this - is to diagnose problem areas...
