Yesterday my engine cut out, like just stopped as if a kill switch was flipped. No coughing and spluttering...

have you checked the globes themselves, because if you simply look at the tail lights it's hard to tell, pull them out and see if both tail and brake fillaments work.

btw, are you sure it's a 3rd...
