Fd track set ups
I know fds arent the quickest in a straight line, but they corner decently enough to have fun on a track/skidpan setup.
sooooo
for the guys who do track,
post up rough set ups and lets see if we can encourage any more to get out there
btw lets cut the crap and by that i dont mean if you have a body kit of mad 48" deep dish pizza rims, etc. just want to know what you have that you recommend for track and why.
as far as format how about

Mine.
model: fd1
transmission: manual
engine:
simota intake (in all honest i dont find much of a difference anywhere in the rev range and the only reason i still have it on the car is cause im too lazy to remove it and put on stock air box
engine oil: oem honda oil i find is more than enough for what i use my car for
tranny fluid: again like the engine oil, oem fluid is more than enough for what my car does
one thing that may be arguable is the gear knob, the stock fd gear knobs have a massive throw. atm just using a spoon knob and i find the throw has significantly reduced due to the shorter shifter length. being a lighter knob, it takes a while for you to get used to the feel but once you get used to it, the shorter throw does feel a lot better and less clunky.
suspension:
cheap bc coilovers- at the moment i have damper rates maxed out for any track use. camber to fronts is 0 degrees and rears are 2.5 degrees. i think this helps prevent me from having the ass end slide out violently during trail braking or lift off, might add some camber to the fronts to see if it eliminates a little of the understeer (any suggestions?)
cusco front strut- not really that much of a gain, in all honesty i believe my engine is doing a good enough job as a strut brace and due to the short length of our engine bays and the layout of a V shaped cusco strut, it doesnt really change handling characteristics that much. would however very much like to experiment with a rear strut (the one for your boot) and try stripping the interior for events as i keep the rear seats in to stabalise the back as i assume the seats themselves act as struts and lower body flex.
brake pads: currently using endless ccx, havent yet upgraded the rotors. for daily driving even on cold days as long as you apply a bit more pressure to the brakes, they are completely fine for daily driving. once you have warmed them up a bit on your warmup lap, the bit f*cking hard and are very good. I have yet to find any rotor wear and they have had a quite a few abusive track days
brake fluid : oem honda fluid again is good enough
tires: re001 - great for my application, however after a few track days the fronts have started wearing out at the shoulders, but handling is negligably affected and still grip well.
interior:
fire extinguisher - in wa cams requires a minimum of 1kg extinguisher for the event that i go to, afaik more serious events may require bigger or multiple. the bracket was fabricated by an engineering company and bolts onto the passenger seat rail so there is no drilling into floor pan etc etc involved, if you would like dimensions/pics send me a pm

Improvements
Injen CAI - Helps quite a bit on the track especially on the track where you're in the top end all the time.
EK9 pads: They're awesome in all honesty, they take awhile to warm up but when they do, they do their job well!
KU31 Tires: Cheap and awesome tires i must say. I'd recommend them if you can't afford the RE001's (or semis =])
