1994 Integra Headlights - faded yellow

    Hello all,

    I recently purchased a 1994 Integra VTi-R.
The front headlights are quite dull and faded - kinda going yellow.

Can anyone recommend a website or shop that stocks these?
Is it worth buying brand new headlights?Or should I visit an auto wrecker?

    Cheers

You can restore the headlights, this has been talked about before. try using the search.

    you can either:

    - Purchase some Mothers plasic polish or AUTOSOL metal polish from supercheap / autobarn.

After a good polish, the headlights come out good! I used autosol on my Levin's plastic headlights, came out a treat.

    OR you can:

    - Get some 600, 800, 1200 and 1500 grit sand paper

Wetsand the headlights from 600 onward, and then polish them up.

I'd only suggest sanding if the headlights are REALLLY weathered.

Mine where pretty bad, and with a simple hand buff with plastic polish, they came out perfect!

to clean the dull haze, theres a plastic cleaner/polish you can buy at auto shops, or cheaper alternatives is using jiff cleaner and rubbing really hard, i use this and works. or metal polish is another method, but i found scrubing with metal polish left light scratches.
if none of the methods work, try look around the parts for sale. getting new isnt worth it in imo. too exp, dpending on wreckers they may also charge quite a bit. so be patient have a look around.

I used Meguires Scratch X on mine, after a few times looks smich!

Cost i think was about $15 and works well to remove those swirl marks in your paint also!

    Cheers for the reply's all.

I think i might go into an autobahn or supercheap auto and pick up some some kind of plastic or metal polish.

Failing that, I'll get out the sand paper!

I recommend Autosol, used it on my faded/foggy headlight and came out fine with polish. Did this a few times and it became better.
