    Hows it goin guys,
I bought a k24a3 engine, it comes with the whole lot and a 5 speed transmission only, i know the engine will fit, but someone told me that i should use the type r or type s gearbox in order for the engine to run, is there any way that i can fit and use this gearbox for the time being just for the car to run? ive bought a hasport engine mounts for the k swap but i havent tried to fit it yet, i know its a dumb question but hopefully you guys can give me an answer coz im having doubts if i made a mistake to buy the engine or not, im fitting it on a 98 civic ek... tnx in advance and have a good one.

i take it you bought that motor from a guy near parra??

im sure you cant run the k24 tranny for some reason. i forgot how but someone will tell you soon.
i was going to go the same route as you, but when i herd about the tranny, its not worth it.
it would of been better off just to get a k20a jap spec. worth the money.

k24a3 should come with a 6-speed manual or a 5-speed auto. Not sure what 5-speed that you got with the engine. The gearbox which comes with the k24a3 does not have a speed sensor in the gearbox, which is probably the reason why that gearbox won't work on your car.

You can use any manual gearbox from the DC5 chassis, 5 or 6 speed doesn't matter. If the box is from an Accord you won't be able to use it cause of the different casing -> There's no companies that make mounts for it.

No, euros (which has k24a3) do not have a speed sensor on the tranny. The speed sensor is on the hub instead. DC5 on the other hand has the speed sensor on the tranny. So if your ek needs the speed sensor to be on the tranny, then that is another reason to get a DC5 gearbox.
