    Smile Hondata ecu gains

    hey guys

i have done a search and found no threads that can help me
    i drive a 95 vti-r and want to do a hondata s100 ecu.
what gain can i expect as i have an injen CAI and a standard exhaust system or would it be better to spend the money on a quality custom exhaust system?
if i was to do an exhaust it would be 2.25 inch from the headers back with a 2.5inch axel back with a cannon tip with high flow cat and muffler.
    please help me out

    Hey

Here's and extract of a post I made on the DA forum that might help you.
The dyno shows before and after I had my s100 tuned.

The Hondata tune did wonders for the drive adding approx 13% overall the the max output. Daily driving is even better with the increased torque and over 4.5k rpm there's definately a bit of bite. I guess one way to describe it is that it feels quicker now carrying a passenger than it did before driving by myself. She's no beast but a fun drive non-the-less.

    Car specs

    - Xforce 4-2-1 with custom 2.25" madrel bent
    - Injen CAI
    - Exedy Organic clutch with ~10lb flywheel
    - Koni Yellow adjustable shocks
    - Ground Control adjustable springs
    - Yokohama C-Drive rubber
    - Racebrake pads
    - Type R styled front lip
    - Civic EK sides skirts cut to fit
    - Combat rear bar with Altezza lights
    - Hondata s100 tune by Revzone

Good old iPhone app Dynolicious gives me the following graph/figures on a recent run....

As you can see 0-90 is pretty quick but I run out of 2nd gear and that gear change to 3rd is a killer. (also my launches are a bit sucky 2.74 60foot I believe on that one).

In my opinion it was definately worth the money and from what I've read the differences are even more pronounced for vtec cars (mine isn't).

    Hope that helps

    first things first mate.
do your exhaust if you already have a cai.
id be looking at a good catback and headers, then the tune.

i dont think getting custom exhaust is a good idea - i think its like $80 a bend, would be cheaper to get an already made one..

Do headers, and exhaust first... with a good cat. Considering you have a intake, the gains from an aftermarket ECU will be good.

yeah ive got a 94 dc2 vtir just done the following
    -injen c.a.i
    -custom exhuast (2.25")
    -200 cell cat
    -skunk2 intake manifold
    -66mm throttle body
    -toda headers
-s100 to BE fitted and tuned by adrian at toda, but im happy so far.

spend the money on a good set of headers and cat. prob be able to
pick up a custom exh on one of the threads for a couple hundred.
