    New accord v6 first post.

Getting a new V6 luxury friday. I really like this car. My only questions are

    1. Should I get paint protection?
2.I really dislike the wheels, They had one demo v6 on sale few weeks ago with after market rims that looked good. The rims were the advanti flint on a silver v6.
I need suggestions on nicer rims and how where can I sell the originals (and for how much?)

The US honda site have some nice ones but I dont think you canget them here ??

Have looked through the forum but couldn't really find what I needed.

    Any help is welcomed.

Congrats on the purchase, it is a great car.

    1. Definately dont, way over priced and mostly a gimmick.

    2. Are you wanting to stick with Honda wheels or aftermarket brand is ok?

If Honda, the only wheels that might look good on the accord that we have access to are the 18 inch Accord Euro lux wheels

    (seen here
    http://p.webwombat.com.au/motoring/c...euro-1-big.jpg)

or the 18 in Si wheels in silver

Seen here : (http://www.hondadealerwebsites.com/e...c_HFPwheel.jpg) - only available in NZ but they can send here i asked before when i was getting wheels.

Either way, it will be at least double the price of what a non Honda wheel would cost you.

What style are you after and what colour is your car? And what state are you in? I could recommend a good place if your in Vic.

Hey thanks for the quick and comprensive reply.
I got the silver with darkest tint.

I am happy to go after market although I love the NZ ones you linked to. Do you know how much?

The ones I saw at the dealer was the advanti flint. The pictures look tacky but on the car it looked good from memory.

The dealer said they would try to get me photos of the car with the wheels. I wont hold my breath for precoital promises though.
They can be had with feels for around 2300 for 4.
I wish I could see that car again.
In terms od style, I like the european style wheels BMW etc

Apec delexi on ebay. From st george tyres in sydney.

    Put into ebay "Apec"
19" or 20" should do nicely on the accords.

I just saw one today with a massive dish and a flush offset.
That was on the newer euro though. And it was black.

    Looked insane.

I can see how the advanti flint would look good , but only on silver or white.

About those NZ wheelsm I emailed honda.co.nz and got a reply with estimate. But it was some months ago, so I forgot the amount and cant find the email.

For aftermarket, you could start by looking at some of these online galleries to see if there's anything you like.

Just make sure the wheel complies with legal specifications according to the state you live in. Ie, in vic, the offset 43 or greater, max width 8.5 in.

    re Apec delexi

Thanks for the suggestion although I think something more conservative would suit myself and the wife.
The adventi looks flashy in the pictures but from memory from 5-6 weeks ago it still actually looked good onthe car.

I am open to other suggestions!!!

I am in vic so any suggestions of local suppliers I can trust would be good.

Just make sure the wheel complies with legal specifications according to the state you live in. For instance, in vic, the offset has to be 43 or greater (as our stock is 55 offset and max is 12.5 difference per side). And no wider than 8.5 inches.

I got mine at FDO (contact details via fdo.com.au). Edit: I would NEVER go there again. They are dodgy!

    No-one posted for a while!
I've had my V6L now for 6 months, great fuel consumption on a trip, smooth V6 and overall a good car but of course nothing is perfect.
The ANC (automatic noise cancellation) doesn't seem to work that well, my previous '05Accord was a bit quieter. Road noise seems to be the biggest problem, I'm running the original Michelins but course bitumen and rougher roads produce quite a bit of noise into the cabin. I find the suspension crashes over some bumps particularly around Sydney's poorly maintained roads and generally is a little too firm to be really comfortable around town. The hard seats don't help either. The tyres are at the regulation 32 psi. I know it's not a Lexus but I was hoping for better.
    What do other owners think?
