    Even if they look at the suspension and see conventional gas struts with springs they aren't going to do anything as long as the car is over 100mm off the ground. Your typical uneducated cop seeing coilovers will however instantly think they are illegal. So as it's a daily, just buy some quality shocks to go with your lowered springs and you'll be fine so long as you keep it legal height.

    EDIT: I can't find the actual ADR at the moment but it applies to adjustable suspension as described:

    ADJUSTABLE SUSPENSION - a suspension capable of providing adjustment of the
    trim height of a vehicle by virtue of special design features built into the
    suspension system other than the trim height difference that may be caused by
    load variations.
    Standard gas struts are fixed length so are fine.
