AMP Recommandation

I'm looking to get a new AMP.
I have a full system so i was thinking i should get a 5 channel so i can run my speakers of the amp to. Do you think its worth doing this? or should i just stick to running my SUB of it since its cheaper?

Also are there any AMP you recommand and how many WATTS should i be looking for?

I basically need my system to be decent just so i can listen to it and be happy i don't need it to enter competitions and stuff...

Well what sort of speakers are you running? Typically it would be better to just add a 4 channel if you already have a mono since you might as well get all the use possible out of it.

a 4channel can easily run both speakers and a subwoofer, most 4ch amps have a seperate EQ control for 2 channels, when running the subwoofer just remember to set it to low Frequency and the other 2 to high or both (high is better since it would sound stupid to have bass coming out of your speakrs and your subwoofer.

i recomend anything from jl (but it must be the slash or hd series) for approximately 150 rms at 4 ohms is suitable for most 6.5 inch splits.

did u mean a high pass (hp) and low pass (lp) filters which cuts frequencies above and below a desired frequency. the trick to 'hide' the sub's location is to set the sub low pass filter to anything below 100hz then u get sweet bass unidirectional (so you can't tell where the bass is comming from). the exact point which it crossovers depends on how low the fronts can go with respect to distortion.

Too bad a lot of people don't understand that when they tune their systems and completely leave out the midbass. Makes a system sound like a sub and a tweeter and not a system
