    B16a2 PCV part #

Hey guys, hope ur week is going well.

I want to replace the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Valve on my EM1.

I called Austral Honda (Brisbane) and the guy said that it is attached to the rocker cover ( i think he meant the valve cover breather hose.)

Ive inspected and took some photos of my old one. Some pice are here:

Unless i am on crack, he doesnt know what he's on about. It's located between injectors 3 and 4 on the inlet manifold. Am i wrong?

Whats the part number? Is it the one stamped on the old PCV? anyone been quoted a correct price lately?

    Thanks, Mike

You are correct, that is the pcv valve.
Part number is on the part usually, but most of the time the part number is superseded, but Honda have access the information and new part numbers.
Hit up Autobarn, they should be able to get a hold of Fuelmiser pcv valves.

Unless the spring is gone in it,U wont need to replace it,just clean it up with carby cleaner or the likes and it's as good as new.

    I did mine yesterday.

chowdaa: How good are the ones from autobarn and whats their price?? I always find the majority of their suppliers are crap. (at least the stuff they stock on their shelves anyway)

Thanks for the posts guys, i kinda new that the Austral Honda guy didnt know what he's on about. Just wanted to make sure.

Beeza: I cleaned it with carby cleaner today, but I havent checked to make sure its working yet. It looked a little worn and old. I'll check it tomorrow, but I doubt its ever been changed in the engine's 170k life.

I checked it before cleaning it, and i didn't hear any clicking sound when i squeezed the hose.

Then it's definately fine. They cost like $56 or something stupid!

It's best to get some Carby cleaner or the likes with the small tube nozzle ya stick on there and push it in the PCV and squirt all the oil/gunk outta there.

I turned the engine on and squeezed the hose, bit i couldn't hear anything. I used a screwdiver as a stethoscope. I heard nothing.

Under high Rpm is when the valve opens and releases the pressure, dunno is squeezing it would make it go but if U blow into the valve it should work one way!
