How do you reprogram it though so that the kms are correct? Or can you just swap out a part of the cluster easily?

Good question. Not 100% sure on that.

Having to see the dc5 guys put jdm cluster on their audm dc5, so I would had thought it is possible with the ep3 as well.

Perhaps the time when you need to reprogram is if one was to convert from miles to kmh. An owner from Perth had once looked into this.
