    Hi,

    I would like to know if anyone has had any experience with the skunk2 sports shocks? What sort spring and rate should be used?

    Thanks,

    Kris

    i have a feeling it'll be the same dimensions as stock but valved higher to handle springs with higher spring rates

    Do you have any idea what the stock spring rate would be I have been told that the pedders springs are 20% stronger then stock so what would that make it?

    96-00 EX - 165F/80R (P/P)
    99-00 Si (EM1) - 201F/99.8R (P/P)

    divide by 56 to get figures in kg
    p = progressive springs

    depends whether the mounting seat is any different

    edit; just read the website, looks like it'll be lower either way because of both shortened shock body AND stroke

    so say you whack on a stock spring and bolt it down, it'll still be lower
    should just give the spring more preload? i guess

    i ran skunk2 sport shocks with skunk2 lowering springs for 18 months , they were firmer and are shorter than oem i thought they were great for the price you paywork well for everyday driving and for occasional 'spirited' although i found using a harder spring or the adjsutable sleeve coil worked better with them, im currently now running the skunk2 pro s....

    Regular off the shelf 8041-SPORT are OEM replacement, same size. The 8041-RACE is shortened, but I'm not sure you can get them new in Australia. Shock length affects shock travel (inevitably less) and the static shaft position. Ride height is determined by where the spring perch is on the shock. If a shorter shock has a lower spring perch, then you'll be lower, but if you have a height adjustable perch then it's moot.
    I have signatures turned off
