Question How to use hydraulic pump jack + jack stands? (pics included)

    Hey..

I had a good long look under my car and
I really dont know where to place my hydraulic pump jack + jack stands...

i have some pictures here to show but they are mobile quality, sorry but couldnt find my camera =x

Picture 1: where should i place these jack stands? is it safe to put it at the regular jack area where you change a tyre? (Piece of metal protruding outwards)
cos you know.. seems like the metal that sticks outwards from the car might slip on this style of jack stand.

Picture 2: Is this the area where i place my hydraulic pump jack?

Picture 3: Zoomed in a little

    Picture 4: Closer look...

This thing is doing my head in, i've never attempted an oil change but i really would like to give it a go. Only thing holding me back is this! Already know everything else i gotta know..

Cheers in advance, hope the pics werent that bad.

the jack points are marked in your manual.

one each behind the front wheels on the outer edge, and in front of the rear wheels along the same line.

can also jack under the front cross member

nfi what your picture is of.

you probably didnt read anything i wrote and just browsed through the pictures with the title in mind.

this is what i said regarding the jack stands.
"seems like the metal that sticks outwards from the car might slip on this style of jack stand." - is this safe?

idk what a front cross member is

^ because it doesnt need to be read... there are 4 jacking points pate, and they are as Mr Will has pointed out.

I will sometimes use the radiator support/front tow hook to lift it up then put the axle stands under the chassis bars
    - not removed by choice! - waiting for the next update to the saga

my hydraulic pump jacks goes up to 330mm
and my jack stands lowest point is 310mm

looks like i have to search for lower jack stands

did read what you wrote mate

but yet those jack stands will be fine

you aint the person person to come across that problem either - its a giant pain in the arse. rather than lower jack stands, consider investing in a better jack

If your jack doesnt go high enough put a thick plank of wood or a few bricks to raise it. You only need to raise the car enough to put the stands in

No it won't slip. If it would slip, then I would be dead and not posting on Ozhonda because I have those same jackstands and a much heavier car.

this is where you place the stands on the car. This is on an ED but identical to the EG. As aaronng said it wont slip
