    mugen chip

    i was going through ebay and i came across some ecu upgrades..

    are they worth it? will they stuff up anything? also do they work with the stock ecu?

    any help is much appreciated guys

    No such thing as a mugen chip. It's a cheap copy piece of crap. Avoid it.

    Its usually just a 20 cent resistor that tricks the engine to think its cold and there fore dumping more fuel in.

    ^ yep 100% right. My mate bought one of these and all it was was a resistor. not worth it at all.

    I thought Mugen made a chip to modify the OEM JDM B16A ECU? Removed rev limiter and such?

    Or maybe was it just a replacement ECU that I'm thinking of?


    Because my JDM B16A rev'd out to 8500 the other day and the ECU has no brand markings on it so I was wondering if it was chipped.
