Exclamation Reaching 140kw at the wheels

    Hey all,

Ive set myself a goal of 140kw at the wheels on a 'safe' tune in my DC5R, and ive got a plan of everything that I want to get:

    Mugen Intake
Toda Headers and Hi Flow Cat
    J's Racing 60RS Catback
Haltech Platinum / Hondata K-pro ECU

Obviously there are a number of other supporting mods that will go with these. But the final piece of the power parts puzzle is cams. There are heaps of brands and variants of cams on the market (Spoon, Toda, Skunk2, etc), and i wanted to know peoples experiences with what they had used. Keeping in mind my target, and that the car will be street-driven, what brand / stage do people recommend?

Is this goal realistic? And is it possible i could crack 150kw atw with these mods?

Any help would be great. Cheers, Daniel.

You would be better off with a 3" exhaust and make sure the headers have a 3" collector. 140-150 should be easy.

That should be able to get you close to 140. Uc is running Amuse + Injen + Xforce headers + Kpro and he made 137kw atw from memory. With cams, rbc etc. you'll definitely hit 140+.

    Hey man,

Toda headers + toda cat, injen cold air intake, skunk2 megapower 70mm catback managed to pull 126 kw atw on the toda dyno (not tuned). This dyno appears to give a very accurate reading as i've dynoed my car on other dyno's made 132 atw.

With enlarged throttle body + upgraded intake manifold + ecu + right choice of tuner you will definitely see 140 atw.

    If youre buying new:

    Mugen intake - 1200
Toda headers and cat - 1750
Cams, valve springs, retainers etc - 2000
    J's Racing catback - 1200
    K-pro + tune - 2500 ???

    K-series parts arent cheap unfortunately...

Which those mods you'll easily get near to or at 140kw.

My car right now has 137.7kw with spoon headers, spoon n1 cat-back, gruppeM intake, and haltech platinum

^^ Very nice power. I was looking at Skunk2 cams myself. I also noticed you went a 3" exhaust, whereas mine is only 2.5". I didnt think a high-revving 2L NA would need a 3" exhaust??? While 140+kw is the goal, i want to build a car that is super responsive as well, not all top end power.
