    How to tell

    Hi All,

I am just wondering if there is a way to tell whether an engine is a JDM ITR engine or just a JDM GSR engine ? Let's assume the obvious has been changed. Things like valve cover, intake manifold and headers. I searched ebay and found that all the JDM B series engines have a starting number of B18C regardless of whether it was from an ITR or GSR.

The block stamping will only have B18C for the JDM engine.

    If it comes with a PR3 head =Type R
If it comes with a P72 head = SiRG

The number right after it will determine what country its for/ from, ex:

    B18C1 (GSR) / B18C5 (R)= USA

    B18C2 (VTiR) / B18C7 (R)= AU

pr3 = top radiator hose is closer to the intake manifold side of engine.
p72 = top radiator hose is closer to exhaust manifold.
