Difference between ADM and JDM engine/power output

    Hi All,

A very happy new owner of a brand spanking new 2011 Honda Odyssey in White.

Out of curiosity, was checking out the Honda JP website http://www.honda.co.jp/ODYSSEY/absolute/dynamics/

Peak power is up to 151kw at 7000rpm and torque is at 232nm at 4300rpm

Does anyone know if there are significant reasons for the difference or would this be simply an ECU reflash tuned for 98oct fuel?

Anyone specialize in ECU flash in Sydney for Honda's?

    Thanks,

    .

    Enjoy the car my friend.
I'm just awaiting delivery of our new MY2010 Lux version in polished metal (metallic grey).

Sorry I can't add value to your post by answering your question.

JDM Absolute has a more advanced engine. it's more than just ECU map and jdm fuel.

i have ran both 92 and 98 fuel and 98 is slightly smoother but i dun feel any extra power.

In the RB1 model, Absolute has 40hp more than the regular rb1.
Questions though for OZ rb1 owners, are the ADM cvt driven or not?

Just to clear up the wrong information in the thread as well, the JDM Odyssey Absolute has a different engine to our AUDM Odyssey. The AUDM Odyssey has an engine similar to the Thai Accord's 2.4L engine, which is like the K24A4. The JDM Odyssey Absolute on the other hand has an engine similar to the Accord Euro, or the K24A3. That is why there is a power difference. It is not because of an ECU tune. The differences between the K24A4 and K24A3 are quite substantial.

    RB1 Type M which is what we get is K24A6 = 160bhp,
RB1 Type Absolute is either the K24A2 or K24A3, I am not sure because the JDM engines dont have the numerical suffix like ours, they all just have k24a-XXXXXXX

Not too sure why they are different. I guess all in the same family, but different internal specifications? Different intake valve size, intake cam High lift lobe lift and angle, throttle body size etc.
