    Engine light ep3 on?

    hey guys

Got half way home today from work and saw that the engine light was on.

Its a 02 ep3r. Driven daily for over a year with fluids changed reg.

It seems to run fine still?

Is it worth taking it to our local Honda dealer ? Keeping in mind they denied the ep3's existence when I first asked them about servicing it.

    Thanks

    Scott

It looks like you just have to change your o2 sensor.
    VTEC? Yes please.

lol a check engine light does not necessarily mean you need to change the oxygen sensor.

Buy a cheap OBDII scanner from jaycar and just scan it. It will accurately tell you whats causing the light.

theres a ultra cheap way to find out your problem in the diy section lol. i think ben wrote it or alternatively take it to a mechanic that you trust and have them pull out the code scanner. last time i had my engine light on was because it was stuck in limp mode, 2nd time was actually the o2 sensor the after cat one? or before but it wasnt cheap to buy...

Try resetting your ECU, if the light comes back on get it checked. To reset your ecu take out the fuse in the fusebox located in the engine bay. It's the 15a fuse in the middle row.

    hey guys

    Sry for the late reply

Finally got it to a mechanic up here and it spat the following out :

    HO2s S1 Heater Failure

From what I can see this is an o2 sensor but which one ?

    Thanks

    Scott

I had the same problem with my DC5R a few days ago.
Went to borrow an OBD2 reader and the following codes came out:

    41-01 HO2S (B2 S1) Heater Failure
    41-04 HO2S S1 Heater Failure

It's definitely the primary O2 sensor.
    Check out my thread here:

I also confirmed this with a few Honda mechanics.
    And this may be helpful:

Good luck, and O2 sensors aren't cheap btw.
