If he was ever called up for it (say someone dobbed him in) and the inspector can't prove the vin swap (must be a near perfect cut and shut) RTA can't do shit. If they cant prove the vin swap its not like they can prove a car is an ek9 by going off the chassis layout.

Neither the ek9 vin or the ek4 vin was recorded as a write off

But he will need engineer cert for the recaros as ek4 never came with recaros. And need a good excuse for no longer having a sunroof.

In the end if you were gonna do something like this (not that I would recommend it) ask your self
Where you gonna get spare EK vin from?
How you gonna source an EK9
Know a fcuking good weilder and spray painter who can cover up the cut and shut?
You got the balls to go get the blue slip done?
Got the balls to register it?

Dude EK9 are legal under Vic laws from what ive been told, and seen personally! so are u even bothering about the rebirth!

Where as NSW, its impossible to get any ek9 rego

Unless the vehicle was a personal import ek9 from japan, than chances are of any ek9 sold in vic, is infact a rebirth model. Find a import agent, and go from there if u really want a ek9

Either stick to a personal import ek9, which still retail what around 18 - 15k, or be a dodgey kent and go for it lol....
