Use a mineral oil. If it uses oil/blows smoke go 20w50

If it doesn't then use 10w40

Run it with out oil, They asked this question more than million time in here. The older the engine the thicker oil you use.
Whenever the car start burning oils use even thicker oil.
200kkm+ use 10w40 , or 15w40 if the engine is burning oil use 20w50.

if u dont mind paying for castrol edge, i wud recommend motul 8100
similar price, better performance on my B16

i would be using at least a 15W on an engine with 200+ km on the clock. have seen to many cars come in to work that have been running 5W or 10W on high km engines and they spin bearings because the oil is too thin and does not lubricate correctly, so just because it's not burning oil, does not mean it is helping your engine

I would just use Castrol Magnatec also. Been using it for the last 40,000 KM's no problem.

why would you use motul in an engine that was designed with economy in mind?

    pointless.

I run a homemade concoction of honey, canola oil, and smiths salt and vinegar chips, the crinkle cut ones, as the straight cut ones dont work properly.

because the sticker clearly says its a high performance engine on the ek d16s :P

but yea on a serious note.. dont use anything under 10... also see if your engine is blowing smoke or leaking alot of oil.. if its doing any of or both of those then best to use a 20 to begin with..

dont bother with motul with such a high km engine.
