To my hongkie friends :D (import parts)

Im not sure where this goes (as always)
But anyone from hong kong ever tried importing parts from HK back to Australia? I know HK laws bans any sort of modification (but i know people still do it ) and i know that both labor and parts in HK for automotive is bloody cheap. Thought i might be able to get a few things i want and ship it back by boat. Anyone had experience? I know this targets a small audience on the forums but hey i might save myself some money.
    Thanks in advance.

The only import tax i can think of is over 1k AUD charge 10% tax. But if i ship them back myself shouldn't i be able to put the price of it under 1k to avoid tax? Im sure someone here has done it before?

Im guessing second hand parts are cheap their as i seen cars EG. Skyline R33 for like 3k.
I have no idea about where to source part but when i go there during Jan planning to walk around to see what i can find. I know theirs heaps of garages in kowloon bay but im not sure.

When bringing it in, just claim it under 1k and you won't have to pay tax on it.
