    Resetting sat navigator?

    Hi there,

Does anyone know how to reset the Navigator in a 2009 Accord V6.

When I bought it it came with V14 software which was dated up to 2007.
From someone on this forum I purchased a copy of V16 which I was most grateful for however in recent times it has started to fail more and more and is now a daily occurrence. I can't use the original disk as a message comes up on the screen upon inserting V14 disk saying along the lines that as the maps have been updated I can not use the older disk. The book says to reset the player I had to refer to the dealer. The dealer tells me that you can't reset. Who do I believe?

So is it possible to reset and does anyone know how. Please.
    cheers

Why don't you put in the V17 or v18 disc?

I have done just that in the last week, managed to get hold of V17. I wasn't aware that 18 was out yet.
I just find it hard to fathom that you can't reset it.

I am having the same problem with my Navigation system.
How do I get a hold of V17 or V18 so I can see if a newer version will fix this.
Can someone please let me know this ASAP.
    Cheers

    As posted here: http://www.avforums.com/forums/car-e...nav-discs.html

The official Honda method for forcing sat-nav to reset to older disc is as follows:
    1. Start the engine.
    2. error message appears on screen with old disc inserted.
    3. Push 'MENU' and 'ZOOM DOWN' switches simultaneously for 2 seconds.
    4. Screen turns to SYSTEM LINK page with a fanfare.
    5. Press 'NEXT' switch (opens car staus page).
    6. Press 'NEXT' switch (opens yaw rate page).
    7. Press 'NEXT' switch (opens diagnosis menu page).
    8. Select 'UNIT CHECK'.
    9. Select 'FORCE DOWN LOAD'.
System will now start to download the old operating system firmware from the old disc, showing progress on a green bar gauge.
When finished the unit should be able to be started normally.

Not at this point as I got hold of a later version however I am keeping this information should I need it in the future. Im not quite confident enough to try it unnecessarily.
    It sounds good though
