    Update: 30/6/2012

    New set of camshafts has been ordered for the drag car. We'll be putting them to the test after a few runs with this current motor set-up.

    Exterior of the car has been worked on for the past few days. The car has been carbon wrapped and finished off with a matt black interior colour sheme. Custom GAB SS suspension and PCI bronze bushing has been BYP choice of suspension for the drag car set-up.

    A custom centered exit exhaust with BYP Titanium muffler is being fab up as we speak. Should look trick when its all done

    We'll get some more pictures up in the following week when the exterior is all completed.

    BYP Drag Car - Debut WSID 11/7/2012

    We finally had some time to finish off the drag car! We had a little set back with our local fabrication guy who was too busy to make us the front end, so we gave it a shot that day. Overall the team is happy with the final product of the EG. With its carbon wrap and closed off front end, its looks like a real drag car.

    We also had the opportunity to switch over to Martini Racing Australia E85 blend. A quick run on the dyno and the car picked up a few kw's over the other blend of E85 that was previously used. Big thumbs up for this E85 blend so far

    To summarise the night -

    Run 1
    11.8@119mph 1.8 60ft (Wheel spin 2 gears. Dropped tyre pressure for the next run)

    Run 2
    11.5@100mph 1.6 60ft (missed 5th gear)


    Run 3
    Front end needed to be raise, front bar scraping the ground. Consequently alignment was out

    Run 4
    11.8@116mph (no traction in 2 gears)

    Run 5
    12.0@97mph (no traction and roll off the throttle)

    With a complete car build, there is bound to be a few little bugs that will occur with its first outing. Luckily enough the main components of the car performed flawlessly. The front bar will be undergoing some modification before the next outing so we dont have the same problem

    The car's target goal for its first outing was mid to low 11 second passes and run close to 120mph. Both milestones were reached! Knowing that the car can run that time for the first outing, the team is very content with its result to date. We can't wait to get out their again for more seat time and further dial in the chassis.
