    Can't get into 5th gear?

    Hi guys,

Mechanic is going to at my car tomorrow, but I have a concern. It seems like after hitting vtec in first-second (never really go past that) I can't put the car into 5th, I mean it will be extremely hard to put it in and slowly after 10 or so tries it gets easier and eventually is fine, then next time I hit vtec it happens again.
Only after i hit vtec and only 5th gear. I haven't gone into vtec in 5th gear, and I can't work it out. the mechanic is going to pull the tansmission out but I'd rather point him in the right direction and save some money if I can. So has anyone else had this issue in their S2k?

I've got no real service history, seemed pretty clean at the time, I believe it is unopened oem though, its a 2002 model.

So what your saying is your going from the top of second gear and trying to pop it straight into 5th?

Have you had any drama's with the clutch? My guestimate would be clutch is worn and not engaging properly

No. Normally I'd go 1st-2nd-netural or 1st-2nd-6th, never into fith.
But after coming to a stop and progressing through the gears again 5th won't go in. I'd like to think it's a clutch but every other gear seems fine...

    I don't think i explained, occasionally ill go 1st - 2nd - 6th, but most of the time 1st - 2nd - netural, but thanks for the heads up!

I also told the mechanic about the error and emailed him that pdf, fingers crossed it's just that, I don't want a 4 figure repair bill..
