every 10k for me but oil filter is changed each time the oil is changed. I personally don't see the sense in changing the oil without changing the oil filter.

just sold my 02 gli to my parents with 170 000 kms. paint was shagged, had a few small dings, interior was still like new, and still drives great. That 170 thousand kays were HARD!!! it was thrashed by me for 9 years, i treated it BAD, and now, its still a great car my mum loves. Hence the reason i only sold it to buy another jazz (09)

you'd think that...all new cars have timing chains...but hyundai need to be changed at 60,000 and subarus also at 80-100km, also vw too!! crazy right

its someting to consider when getting a car..add $500 -$1400 for that service

like the 2001 CRV is timing belt..2002+ chain

thats a good point!! some good advice!
however if buying an 01 is well cheaper then getting an 02 model CRV then i would still get the 01 because 1400$ down the track is future me's problem.

not many modern cars have chains. 99% have timing belts. Belts are generally quieter and smoother so they are the choice these days. Chains are old hat. Love the fact that my jazzes have been chain though.
