how can i tell my engine mount need replacement?

i feel the car so powerless and shaky, my first thought would be my exhuast leak as i got the aftermarket one on my integra.

but the mechant told me is all about my engine mount, the engine have a large movment when the car reverse with pedal.

is it hard to check the engine mount? is it hard to DIY replace it?

    mine is a integra DC4 with B18B

IMO it's a pain in the ass to inspect the rear, the rest are usually not so bad. Changing also a PITA, rear massively so.

Look for cracks in the rubber insert.

Normally there's no power loss due to mounts, and shakiness can be a problem but not violently so from my experience. How's your flywheel/clutch?

^^ correct, better off paying for the rear mount to be done

Exhaust can be a problem but i don't think you can actually tell the powerloss in a leak, maybe its time for a good service if you haven't got one done in a while?

DC2/4 seems to always have engine mounts cracked for some reason...a guy i know just got his replaced a few days ago, heres what it looked like

stationary car - open bonnet and shake engine

excessive movement will mean mout/s could be worn, broken

obvious give away is when driving coming off the accelerator (especially at high revs or hard acceleration) you would hear a loud clunk like when a washing machine is out of balance

You need to verifiy if you have 2 bolt or 3 bolt mount on the side of your timing belt. If yours is 3 bolt, that will work. But have a look at purchasing hasports or innovative mounts, quality stuff there. EBay is your best bet.
