    Cool b16a2 ek4 vs dc2 vti-r

my mate wants to sell me a clean civic ek4 for 7k-7.5k and has a b16a2 but i want to look at buying a dc2 with a b18c2 but not too sure, what's faster? the civic is pretty stock

i'm stuck at what to buy, and i get my p's in 2 months and have a 7-8k budget.

Get the cleanest DC2 or EK4/EM1 you can get with the lowest genuine kms. Don't be too choosy one or the other as there are not many good ones around these days.

The performance difference is not huge so pick whichever you prefer the looks of

Also the ek4 is alot more rare and to some, more valuable

I'd rather get the EK4 and do a B20 setup!

I've owned an EM1 before and currently driving a DC2 Vti-r. I reckon my em1 was a better drive felt better in some way. The em1 obviously shit on torque. But the dc2 is slightly better. DC2 gearbox is really long and annoying. LOL, i sometimes cruise on gear 3 without realising. I'd probably go the ek4 mate. Shorter gears more fun to play around with.

ek4 because more rarer and feels heaps more responsive than dc2 due to it's gear ratios

also b16a vtec crossover is more aggressive than b18

should also consider em1 which is similar mechanically wise with the coupe shape

would try and find those two models and choose which ever one is in better condition in the end though
Dc2r and em1 only good if you work at McDonald's, s2k good for order food in McDonald's
    deal with it m8
