We probably won't get all the goodies that the Americans get.

This is the new bigger Mazda 6: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tFED...feature=relmfu The Americans got a bigger version than the rest of the world of the current version and now it looks like everyone is getting the big version of the new one. The wheelbase is longer than the Accord and the Falcon.

I've heard nothing about a new Euro Accord overseas. In fact I've heard that they may not release a new version.
What is your source for the Euro?
    I'm interested...

It's the Acura TSX they're thinking of phasing out towards the end of 2013 (there's a hint...). But the car is in reality the Accord for the rest of the world. Honda wouldn't get rid of this car for the rest of the world just because it sells in small numbers in the USA and nor would they substitute the very American style USA Accord for the rest of the world as it would flop stylistically. Except maybe in Russia.

It's likely that the Acura TSX will be phased out in the USA when it comes to the end of its model cycle and replaced with a downsized 'TLX'. This is estimated to occur in September-October 2013, which coincides with the release of the world Accord (Euro in OZ).

Apart from the logic above, I do have a good source.

Rest of the world? hardly, outside of Americas:

    Europe:
Honda Europe is looking at discontinuing the Accord (Euro) form their range since sales had dropped to 2500 per YEAR in the UK for example (75% drop from 2005)

Hardly surprising since the Mid-size (or full size EU speak) sales had plummeted since the GFC in EU, also doesn't help when the c-segment sector is very crowded.

    ASIA
Most either dont have the accord at all, or have the big accord

The only other country (apart for us) that sells the European Accord in numbers is China as the Honda Spirior (made locally). the Sprior sales were 50% below expectations (or more), 1500 cars a month is not enough to justify a whole assembly line.... Doesn't help when a Sprior cost almost the same as a BMW 3... in China.... Theres a lengthy discussion on a Chinese forum on the poor Honda Spirior sales (if you read Chinese) http://club.autohome.com.cn/bbs/thre...0088285-1.html

Russia is a wild card, however since Acura is in Russia now I dont see them having 2 premium mid-sizers cannibalising sales off each other.

Japan: they need to keep the nameplate alive somehow.

    Africa
South Africa, 50 Accord Euros a month... hardly relevant.

    Oceania
So that leaves Oceania (OZ/NZ), we probably consume more Accord Euros in a year than the entire EU over the past 2-3 years....

So this leaves the new model accord euro with 50% less expected demand on the Sayama Plant than the previous model (since US is going for a locally built TLX instead).

This would be a problem for Honda Australia, since the Euro had been their lifeline.

I have no doubt another Accord Euro would be made, it'll likely to be more JDM than ever, but unlikely to be a money maker.

The new Euro will probably be the 2014 Acura TLX,which will be the Spirior /Concept C as well.

The Euro sells very well in the USA,over 30 000 units per year.

The smaller, newer Acura ILX has battled,as it cannot compete with the TSX/Euro.

Another possability for the new Euro could be the ILX,although that is Civic, and not Accord based...

Japan: they need to keep the nameplate alive somehow.
Sales of anything Japanese as well as sales of the Honda Sprior (Superior) have been affected by the China-Japan dispute over rocks in the middle of seas. If you recall the Chinese were burning effigies earlier this year. That might not settle down so soon since a conservative government won the Japanese elections yesterday but I'm sure that the Japanese industrial companies will put pressure on the new conservative government to behave. As you conceded, the nameplate will live on and since it will be in right-hand-drive Japan, that means we'll be getting the new, probably downsized, Euro.
