Subwoofer Plus amp boot setup for FD CIvic

    Hey guys,

I got twin kickers plus 2 amps in the boot, trying to source some ideas on how i should mount them.

Please post photos and ideas on how you have it going atm.

    Thanks!

My amps just mounted on the back of my seat in the boot. I have a single 12" sub and I just face that towards the seats and pop one of my seats down. (FD2 only I think) greatly reduces the vibrations and improves sound quality.

For bass sound it's best to have the sub facing the back of the car. Generates the best bass that way.

I have a small amp + 12inch sub and it's more than enough. No hectic.

Yes it's better to face the amp rearward with no opening. I have a 4ch amp mounted on my seat and twin 12" pioneers

guys got any pictures? Where did you guys run the earth cable?

atm i got them running at the boot catcher... i know its so bad its gonna get my boot lid outta allighnment.

Best place to ground? without drilling and extra nuts?

I mounted my amps ground in my to the Baby seat Bolt, Just use a wirebrush to remove all factory paint/primer and mount away,

I have a 4 channel amp with 1 12" (Bridged on REAR) and 6x9" running off the front channels.

P.S. the shorter the earth lead the better...

Where the back seats fold down, underneath there. There are 2 bolts that you can use to ground.

Fold back seats down and then lift up the false boot floor and you'll see them. Just undo a bolt, and then thread the ground wire and bolt it down

I grounded my earth cable to the bolt underneath the rear seats. There's a bolt near the centre seat"s seatbelt.

I wasn't going for more bass with my setup as my bass is heavy enough (Rockford fosgate p3 with a 700rms amp), thus I faced it inwards as I was looking for clear bass, not distorted- vibratey bass.

i made a false floor and i have my amps on either the side of the sub, with sub facing down towards the wheel well. Best place to put a sub is in the wheel well, subs are design to work best within a certain volume, too much and it will sound bad. But then it is an issue of having a spare wheel or not =)

Cars manufactured after 2001 are allowed to not have a spare wheel.

So removing it shouldn't be an issue. Just buy a can of puncture repair just in case.
