98 Honda Civic EK1 hatch Sunroof? Would it be worth trying fitting one on?

98 Honda Civic EK1 hatch Sunroof? Would it be worth trying to get them fitted on?

I like to make my Civic to look tough and cool, as at the moment I am trying to make it go quick around corners and on staights, and I always liked to have a sunroof, I know it adds weight but mehh, its gonna be a my street legal toy.

So has anyone got theirs fitted, if so, how much did it cost you overall? Or is it not worth it and buy a car thats factory fitted

i seen one build thread before (cant remember who done it) but they managed to fit a factory ek4 sunroof into their ek cxi. But it was hard work. If you dunno what your doing, approx 1300 is what your looking at for a sunroof + installation.

I tried looking for a thread but nahh, my slow internet got me annoyed haha.

And I guess thats alright for $1300, it does increase the price tag of your car by $1000 or two if its electric operated with 3 different settings. cheers

It's an insane amount of work and welding for what it gives in return - which is basically a big fancy hole in the roof. I'd prefer to not have a sunroof, but the guy posted it on JDMST somewhere..never posted in the thread so can't find it for ya.

    Not

    Really

The car in the end is only worth what people are willing to pay.

I've helped mates pick up mint GLi hatches for $100..not what kids here will sell their shit for, maybe multiplied by 30.

If you get someone OCD who know's their shit and they find your car isn't an EK4 or factory optioned EK2 (cue the lame game show fail tune - woh woh woohhhh) then they are likely to walk or offer less.

If you find a snapper who wants a reliable Honda who wants the vti-r goodness then it may be in your favor

I do understand about putting a price tag on your car where people are prepaired to pay, but if you just mentioned it in an advertisement of your car for sale and say "professionly fitted sunroof worth $1000 alone" and they be thinking the sunroof to them comes free with the car haha.
But my list goes for modding my car
    Suspenison
    Breaks
    18c2 Vtec or b16b vtec
    supercharger and cooling
bodykit (just for the 'business' look)
then i be thinking of stripping the car, new sunroof in, take the rust out of the car and little stone dings, rollcage, new interior, rebuild engine if needed, etc.

Then hopfully the civic can put in serious times, beat my dads xr8 or escort up the hillclimb, and maybe, Magazine cover but thats not in my expections.

I personally have NEVER looked at an ad where somebody has listed the cost of included the mods they have done to the car and seen that as an incentive to purchase. If you want a sunroof, thats cool But just remember that it is money that you will never get back (its a car, you do it for the love, not the profit).
