I ended up getting this Prelude, it wasn't as perfect as the photos made out, but I got it for pretty cheap. Just over $3k, so Im happy.

It's got a bit of a leak from the rocker cover, needs new steering rack boots, sway bar/tie rod bushes and radiator cap, has clear peeling off the boot and ugly plugs where the spoiler use to be and also has a patch of surface rust on the nose of the bonnet, where some paint has chipped up.

So my plan for it is to fix it up, get all the leaks in order, give it a good full service, wrap the boot in carbon fibre vinyl (my mate is a screen printer/sticker mob guy) and then try and find a replace bonnet that I can throw on and get resprayed.

As I said, it's not a showcar car, but its fun to drive.

    Cheers,
    Russ.

for 3k i'd be pretty pleased with that!

If you wanna be a nutcase about it, clean up all the bits you're unahppy with , and wrap the entire car another colour This thread is very inspiring.

Thanks guys, I'll start up the work on the Prelude next week I think, starting with front and rear sway bar bushes... The bars are really knocking around in there.
Then I'll degrease the underbody and engine bay, and then find a valve cover gasket.

When it's off, might just respray the rocker cover in a nice red.... or black, just to stir up some emotions.

Anyway someone can move this thread to the Builds section of the forums?

    Cheers guys,
    Russ.

Just ordered some 3M carbon fibre wrap for the boot, just to tidy up the rear end and cover the grotty looking holes where the spoiler once was... Next thing will be to get the rocker cover gasket, replace it and respray the cover in a nice red or black.

    Cheers,
    Russ.

Yeah, but they are a little bit more than I'd like to spend.
This prelude is a bit of a budget build

still for the effort you can get an ebay painted one and sell your old one.
because some of them are cheap and the paintjob is probably better then you could diy unless you were talented.

actually i take tht back, they are more pricey for the H22 engine, then the b series LOL

Yeah, just a little bit hey...

Might even buff the rocker cover and leave it bare metal?
    Dunno yet.
