You shouldn't have to remove the rear shelf. The whole brake light unit should unclip and lift out, then you should be able to unclip the reflector from the housing.

Well unfortunately for me it's not so simple :'(
i spent at least an hour looking at it and trying different ways of attempting to yank it out, bugger!
I'm in the process of downloading the TSX manual (what?? download, i mean purchase...) so hopefully that helps!

2nd attached pic was from the remove the rear shelf section. Like HZ said, you only need to remove the brake light housing, not the whole shelf.

Phewwww!!!! Time to get a quote from Honda....
My dilemma is that he stuffed one of the windows very slightly and agreed to redo it for free, I don't wanna piss him off about paying for a new light before he does the window...
    -_- damn it!!!

HNNNNNNGGG, time to go scavenging at the wreckers..
is it worth doing an LED conversion? I'd want it to be brighter since my window is now darker.

Sorry for all the moaning, managed to fix it all up without any glue etc or replacement parts.
It just takes a little bit of care and it jumped exactly into place.
Thanks for all the help guys!

    Dale.
