Would I need to put clear coat on after doing this?
I'm guessing I would, but I don't really have the know-how when it comes to cleaning car paint.

It does look like you need to take a fine layer off the clearcoat but if youre not confident then best to get a good mate who is experienced to assist rather than mess it up

Nah u dont need to clear coat it, you're only sanding off part of the clear coat that's got the delicious P&G in it. just apply wax on afterwards for sum protekshun

Hey guys, after my dad insisted a couple more tries with the cutting compound.
It is no longer visible unless under direct sunlight, I'm hoping I should be able to buff the rest out.
Failing that, I'll give both a wet sand, and a clay bar a try.
I will post pictures soon, when I manage to find my phone.
Thank you all so much for the help, I truly appreciate it.
And I no longer am required to murder my friend and/or his family.
I will still be getting some form of payback though.

Also, the reason the light bends on the bonnet is because I have a rather large dint, which occurred prior to this event.

To be completely honest, it's probably because I washed my car just before taking these pictures, to make sure there wasn't dirt hiding the paint damage :P
