    k24 swap issues.

    Hey guys,

just wandering with my k24 swap why it always has a check engine light come on once it is at a certain temperature?

If i have parked on idle on a hot day. the check engine light comes on and i cant drive the car over 4k rpm, has anyone got a clue what the problem is or wether its just a sensor?

I couldn't pass 4k rpm and had a engine light because my battery didnt have enough charge.
    Just a thought.

the k24 is in a integra, and it doesnt over heat when the cel light comes on stays at the same temperature although just doesnt let me pass 4k until i drive for a while and then after the cel light turns off. it only happens when it gets hot and the car is just stationary at the lights or whilst stop and start traffic, i also believe the car is running a hondata k pro

im not sure what the cel code is. all i know that once it gets hot the engine light comes on and then stops me from going over 4k. after slowly driving around it then turns off and works fine again. so confused!

    Ok

Its obvious why u cant drive past 4k rpm - this is bcoz the ecu is detecting an error and activating the limbo/safe mode.

It could be anything mate. If u have a kpro then plug this into a laptop and check the error/diagnostics section and u will see what is causing the limbo.

    Possibilities,
    - engine is knocking
    - a/f ratio too rich or lean
    - map or o2 sensors
    - injectors
    - fuel delivery
    - ignition/cam
    - speed sensors

    Plus more ..

Take it to a tuner who can troubleshoot for you - if u dont know how to use the hondata sw.

Download the Kpro software onto a laptop and plug it into the ecu. Then tell us what the code is.

increase the temp warning by 5deg in KManager or disable the warning. (ensure your engine is not overheating)
this will be giving you code 11 IIRC
