I want to believe this turbokit is good value for money, but it's a case of 'too good to be true'.
Can anyone comment on these cheap turbo kits? ~$1300 delivered to Australia.
    Worth it? Rubbish?

My brother for whatever reason bought a cheap turbo for his Galant VR-4 a few years ago from ebay. The first one grenaded so they replaced it, the second one bypassed oil straight out of the box. The third one lasted 10k km before it blew oil again. He ended up rebuilding his stock turbo - no problems since. They are priced like that for a reason - made from coke cans.

The R18 would be so easy to fabricate a turbo manifold for due to the exhaust runners integrated into the head, and that's the only tricky part about the kit you listed. Then choose a good turbo and intercooler, pipework etc. If you bought smart, and bought good quality second hand stuff, you could have the bits you need for around $2k I reckon.

Regardless you'd still need to run a tuneable ems, bigger injectors etc over and above the kit, so you're talking bigger bikkies than the $1300.
