Funny it also says the AP2 got the F22 engine.

So why wasn't the car renamed to the S2200?

The name was derived for the size of the engine. Then the engine size changed in some markets. Doesn't mean the name should change.

I was lucky enough to have a lady friend who used to loan me her S600 back in the day.

They were incredible, revving to 11000 RPM. Driving it felt very similar to my 1100cc F2 Brabham I was racing at the time.

Their only minor flaw was a heavy flywheel used to make them easier to get away from a standstill, meant it took a while for the revs to drop enough in first & second, so you could pick up the next gear without a crunch. The revs were just too much for the synchros.

I guess there aren't too many that have driven the full range of Honda S cars.
