Gen 2 Crx b16a turbo project

    Hi all,

Will be starting the next stage in my build for my gen 2 crx

To date I have swapped out the d16a8 and installed a b16a jdm motor and y1 lsd gearbox, Converted the engine to obd1, adjustable suspension, 4 piece strut braces on front and rear.

Brakes will be dealt with soon...

This weekend ill install a 9k tacho and get the vtec working (thanks Bau). And new custom drive shafts.

Next step will be putting in a t3/4 turbo.

I have a couple questions, first I assume im not the first person to do this so....

Will I need to replace the stock radiator with a half size one to fit the turbo eg. The one off the del sol and does it fit under the hood?

Should I expect to have to cut away and make room in engine bay?

Has anyone got good examples of how they have mounted a intercooler in the stock front bar?

Oh... and air con has been removed to free up space already

Any other tips specific to a b16a turbo setup woild be great

    Cheers,

    Alex

It depends what manifold / turbo / sizing of intercooler you're running, no use asking without specifying what you have.

Half Radiator will be a mission to fit, maybe look into a tucked radiator
    OEM parts whore

With the problems i am having posting online ill try my best.

There is only 1 reliable turbo crx in person ive seen it was a 3 year award winner for the post powerful 1.6LITRE b16a. With an incredible 200kw from a stock block but i did know that only quailty parts were used.

Half sized radiator will be needed due to space restrictions.

And aircon will need to go also in order to fit the manifold.

If done right you can see a very powerful n yet very light crx on the streets all day everyday . Well thats what my friend had.

thanks for your belittling comment . Bluger

A full race manifold was used but i couldnt link it in the original post as access permission was denied.

Currently have a log manifold, but have noticed that most setups are usong the rams horn type... looks like they position the turbo further down, will need to rethink that

Snnop - do you know if the rad in the exmaple above is from a specific car or custom made?
