    VTi-R running LSD

Hey guys quick question, did some searching but couldn't come up with any real answers.

In regards to upgrading a VTiR to lsd from the stock open diff, what exactly is the process. I ask as I have a mate who has a 4.4FD lsd, that he is willing to give to me for nothing. I know the FD of the VTiR is 4.4 too, but is it as easy as just dropping it in, or do things like the crown gear sizing make life hard and therefore costing some dollars and headaches to get all this done. Budgeting is an issue which is my main concern.

    Cheers.

Full disassembly of the gearbox is required. Only the diff carrier shim setting will change though so it's not a complete rebuild. It's not easy for a beginner with limited tools, but can be done if you carefully read and follow the workshop manual and invest in a few tools (cir clip pliers, tension wrench, vise etc.). There's lots that you can do wrong when you pull a gearbox apart.
