    First Home Service

    Hey OzHonda,

I'm soon to begin servicing at home. I'm not quite sure what size the sump plug/bolt is and what thread and pitch it is. I'm also unsure about the washer size. I have found a forum post that says the bolt thread and pitch is 14x1.5mm. Can anyone confirm this?

My engine is H22A4 but I'm assuming that the sump bolt sizing, washer etc, are the same across all Honda's.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Why yes, yes, yes it is
Unless the joe blow before you stripped the sump threads hehe
Here's a tip, ues a 17mm 6 point socket to remove the sump plug, last thing you want is to strip the head & never get it off
And change the aluminium washer at every service
    Good luck

Thanks Jasemas. So I would use an aluminium washer rather then copper or is either fine?

Lol I've changed my washer like once out of all the times I've done my oil. as long as you're not using the same one for 10 years i don't think it'll leak.

I got my washer from the dealer. That was like a whole dollar. I think it was aluminium.

Thanks Curtis. For some reason mine has some sort of gasket maker substance around the actual hole. So I will need to get a washer anyway.

I'm only surprised it doesn't leak out of the hole.

Are you still talking about your oil sump, or something else?
