    VEi Engine into EG GLi

Can you make a D15Z1 engine work with the D15B7 firewall loom and ECU?

Mates EG4 has a head gasket issue and he doesn't have the funds or patience to get the motor machined and fixed
He found and bought a D15Z1 motor for very cheap without doing much research

Although we now realise the Z1 has slightly less power than the old one it's still the best option for him (also just sold his other car and has to move houses in a few months)

So is it possible to modify the passenger side strut tower wiring for the VTEC-E motor?

Anything is possible and with that said the answer is yes. How much of a ball braker it will be is a different story.

The VTEC-E engine uses a LAF sensor and not an O2 sensor, they are just old school wideband sensors and then there is the VTEC wiring to accommodate for.

Assuming you have the skills to wire it all up, you are going to need the correct ECU, from memory they used P07 ECU's here and the JDM variant was the P84. They should be cheep to pick up these days as they are useless. You cannot use the P06 ECU
