    Starting troubles

    Howdy,

I am building a race car and have bought a S2000 front cut from the wreakers
to get the best under 2 litre motor ever built. (F20C)

The problem is the front cut did not come with any keys or remote fobs.

The motor and gear box are installed in my race car and I am attempting to
    wire and start the engine.

When the ignition is turned on:

The dash will go through its start up procedure,
    the fuel pump will start,
when the start button is pushed the motor will crank
    but not start.

The question is: does the keyless remote stop the motor starting?

My assumption is that it does but I can not tell how as there are no
signals going into the EMC control box from the lock and keyless controller.
(the front cut has come from Japan so may be different from an Australian delivered model)

The keyless controller is an Omron G8D-454H-3B.
does anyone out there know what the keyless controller actually does
and what the Pins in the connection plug actually go to?

    Thanks

    Geoff V

It could be the Immobiliser in the ECU, if it is I can disable the immobiliser in the ECU, PM me if interested.

Post a picture of the inside of your ECU and Il can tell you if it has the immobiliser

    Howdy again,

I'm new to the OzHonda forum and thought I might be able to get some serious help with my S2000 engine problems here.

The first reply I received really put me off this forum as it was unrelated and of a sexual nature.
Fortunately some one (the administrator I assume) removed it from this thread, thanks for that.

Also thanks to the valid responses I have received especially from ECU-Man with the offer of help.

I have discovered that the ECU I have does not have an immobiliser in it.

The problem I had was that I had spark and fuel pressure at the fuel rail but no injector function.

I thought it was an ECU related problem.

A friend of mine then looked at the problem from a different angle.
In Japan (where the motor and gear box came from) the car would have been running anything up to 15% ethonel fuel which can contain a lot of moisture and the motor has sat for a long time. maybe the injectors are blocked?

I have removed, had cleaned and replaced the injectors and the motor started within 2 seconds of cranking it. Happy Days . . . . .

It is hunting between 1000 and 1500 RPM but at lease it runs and I will look into curing that once I have finished the wiring.

Thanks for your interest in my problem.

    Cheers

    Geoff V

PS. the motor and gearbox are mid mounted in a Datsun 1200 coupe with a cut down S13 silvia IRS rear.
250 horse power with 850Kgs. can't wait to drive it

    Howdy,
I'm not sure if my 1973 Datsun 1200 Coupe fits this forum?

It does contain a S2000 motor, Gearbox and dash.

The three pictures are of the wiring and dash two weeks ago during the "why won't this Bloody thing Start" phase
The motor is mounted so the front of the motor is level with what would have been the fire wall.
The front view of the 1200, with 100mm wide flares front and rear.

    I would've still gone wit k24.

IMO cannot look past 50deg vtc and torque for side ways action.

But look like race car so who cares about vtc its gonna be spending its life in the end zone.

As mentioned your most welcome to post a build thread here, others have done so with Honda powered projects.

Another one is the B16A2 powered Mini
