Question K20 Swap MAD Torque steer pulls (Lane Jumps)

    Hi Guys,

I'm having issues with massive torque steer on K20 Swaped EG - 180Kw on wheels
    Just bolt on, cams etc.

We have change every possible thing that could be change on the suspension thing

    Coilovers
poly urethane bushes Front arm, rear trailing arm etc.

    Fronts:
Hard Race Tie Rod (ball joint)
    Hard race Camber arm (rubber)
    ITR sway bar

    Rear:
    Hard race Toe adjuster (rubber)
    Hard Race Camber arm (rubber)
    Hard Race Rear (rubber)
    Function 7 Tie brace
    ITR Rear sway bar

    The car is Track dedicated

    Alignment

    FRONT
    Camber L/R -2.6
    Toe L/R 0
    Max Caster

    Rear
    Camer L/R -2
    Toe L/R 0

    Wheels
Rota Grids 0 Offset front and rear

    Tires
    R888 225/50/15 Mediums

I've noticed that once we have the R888 the torque steer becomes tremendously crazy compared to our old set of 215/50/15 A050 soft.

The alignment pretty much the same but we have dialled back to 0 toe on front and rear

we did run -0.05 toe on rear and 0 on front before.

Tire Pressure is at 34 psi - warm pressure.

car felt floating on high speed with WOT
wot from 2 to 3 to rev limit it would jerk to LEFT and jumps lane... Caught me off guards a few times.
as I didn't drive the car for awhile since I got the new tires on.

Does any body have the same situation as me? or is it just me?
that I forgot to train my biceps to control the steering wheel?

It's just trying to kill me on WOT VTEC and I didn't remember this happening when I had the A050's on it.

    What diff are you running?
The OEM / Torsen / ATB diffs "hunt" for traction at that sort of power.
Swap tyres/wheels with a mate if possible and check again.

    Spoon Lsd with 5.1 FD.

Never had much issue with the 215 50 15 A050.

But the 225 50 15 r888 does this crazy pull lol.

Will be trying another set of wheels and see if that's the cause.

    Funny you say that
The tyres are not spinning or loosing traction when this happens.

Even at high speed above 100-16₩
the car would crab as well.

A little head fk at the moment figuring out what happened to it from now to before the tire change.

Were you using the same offset wheels on the old tyres?

Changing the offset will change the scrub radius giving you more/less feel and could change torque steer behaviour.

Could just be the change in tyre compound too or the diff showing up a bias.

Hard Race Tie Rod (ball joint)
This is part of your problem most likely. These hard race tie rods are junk, and will completely screw up your bump steer. See a post from a mate of mine here: http://honda-tech.com/acura-integra-.../#post49927138

A tyre change will tend to change tramlining or bump steer response behaviour, as a different tyre will have different camber thrust and lateral force developed for a given slip angle. I'd try putting your stock tie rod ends back in to start with though.

    That's a possible problem.

We did put the hard race front tie rod the same time as the new tires.

Now after that you mention that, I did a quick search on Google, People have notice difference with them.

As I quote " like driving on ice" is the same feels as what I'm having at the moment.

I'll be trying the stock tie rod tonight and see if that is the case.

    Will update the issue progress
