Typical azn young fella's Spoon-style GD Jazz

Note: If any of the pics are unviewable, me notify me!

Yo, decided to start a thread about my daily Jazz, since there's barely any good activities in da Jazz thread, and to keep you Ozhondie lot somewhat entertained.

Not gonna go excessive on mods, going ALL OUT with the EG build already.
Just gonna 'Jazz' it up to my envisioned Spoon style liking.

Direct copy and paste from the 'What did you do on your JAZZ today...' thread.

Man, this thread needs moarr active actions!

So, I was looking for a new daily. I wanted excellent fuel economy, within my budget, and had to be a Honda... to be the criterias. And so I acquired myself yesterday a '06 Honda Jazz VTi-S, as a daily, for a great price.
At a reasonable mileage of 110k kms, and as I'm the 2nd owner, I am satisfied!

The first owner is from HK, me too. He bought it new when he was 21. I'm 21 now, and it's my turn. Coincidence?

The only thing that I am bummed about is that it was made in Thailand. From my preliminary research, their manufacturing standards are as on par with factories in Japan.
Wanted that extra JDM credit. Oh well...

    The only mods done are:

    - JDM dash radio console
    - Old model, flip-out DVD/CD/GPS player
    - 17" wheels from Tempe Tyres apparently, with 205s, and aftermarket wheel nuts (to suit aftermarket wheels)

I ordered Ebay window visors as soon as came home from buying da Jazz yesterday. At $58 delivered for the set, I'll see how these held on by tape visors hold up.

So, as want absolute the best fuel consumption as possible, these 17"s wrapped in 205s aren't ideal, for cornering; yes, but for an underpowered car like the Jazz, it's not desirable.

So my to do mod list is:

    - Light-weight 15" JDM rims with 175 or 185.
    - A bit of weight reduction
    - SRI for improved engine efficiency
    - Lowering properly to about 3cm lower, for that recommended 2 finger gap.

... all this after I get my project EG finished. -.-

    So I started weight reduction.
My aim is to reduce as much weight as possible, with a full interior look, you know what I'm sayin'.
With that said, there's nothing much to shed off.

First gen Jazz didn't come with a space saver wheel, instead a stock one, so I went hunting for one.
Found myself one from a 3rd gen Jazz owner who oppositely swapped the space saver with a stock wheel.

    Stock Vti-s 15" alloy wheel approx. 90-95% tread = 16.1kg

Brand new unused 2015 Jazz Space Saver = 10.1kg

    Saved 6kg right there, yea!

I have no use for the rear parcel tray, so I removed it = -1.8kg

Also took of: 2 small rubber grommets from I dunno where, 1 centre wheel cap (off spare wheel), plastic rear boot trim handle and rear middle floor mat = -4** grams

So as of now, I have taken off 8.2kgs.
Yo, stay tuned, updating right now, giveme approx. 20 min

    Gotta rep Ozhonda.
I am officially unofficially Ozhonda's sticker distributor. Contact me for them stickers!

Got Ebay window visors. I only put on the fronts not the back, because weight reduction! I rarely have more than 1 passenger.

    Before:

    After:

I should gotten OEM or Mugen visors. Barely any coverage. Too late now.

Regarding lightweight JDM wheels... so should I say, super-ultra-feather-weight wheels:
Most probably the lightweight afermarket forged wheel ever exisited!

And they are called ________________ (?) (fill in the blanks...)

    ay, right?

    Spoon rep, with non-genuine stickers!

Notice how the 'S' at the end of 'SPORTS' is slightly off position. They forgot the 'S'! Luckily I noticed! So got them to add to S in.
That's what you get for a $20 banner including installing, lol.

Got my stickers done with Nick's S2000. Sickk ay?

    Barbz home sticker service, ftw!

And ofc, Spoon stickers accompanied with genuine Spoon products.

    Before:

    After:

    Spoon N1 muffler:

Spoon Engine and trans magnetic bolt and Type D radiator cap:

Decided not to get the Spoon engine oil cap, to save that $80 or so.
Need to save... for a house, just kidding, but srsly most importantly atm, for my EG build.

    Spoon vs stock cap.
More of an accessory than actual benefit. Meh.

Installed Engine bolt at my minor 110 K km DIY service, yo.
I should of taken a pic of both stock and Spoon bolt together. =S
Will install da bolt for transmission when I change the transmission fluid, that's next or the service after.

I had to decide indecisively on which custom no. plate to choose from:

    or

    To space or not?

That's enough entertainment for today folks.

Forgot to post a pic of the ma Jazz with stock alloys. I'm sure you have all seen a facelift Vti-s GD before.

    Anyways...

    JDM YO!

Check out my 'How to basic' DIY install of these plates, if you haven't already: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...-drilled-holes

Acquired Type R red emblems. Takes a bit of modding to get them on.

I didn't take a pic of both badges together so here they are from another forum:

    EP3R front (larger)
    DC5R rear (smaller)

    Rear badge up close.

Type R vs stock rear badge. I didn't take a front comparison.

To put on the front, you had to shave the plastic straight, and clip off the two rear pins.
I didn't take a before shot, so here's another pic from that forum (although mine looked a bit different, but basically the same):

Note that AUDM's and US's Jazz/Fit's grill are different.

My first time using a dremel... then somewhat smoothen it over with sandpaper. (Dunno what grit, not too rough)
Tried to sand down the inner edges of the outer area.

Used superglue to ensure it stick in down firmly.

The top and bottom edges didn't quite stick down, so I used a heat gun on the badge to make it form, annnddd just as I was telling myself to NOT to apply too much heat, BAMM a small crack appear on the badge, and I accidently made a fingerprint of superglue which I cannot remove! Ahh, too embarrassing to show! I should of taped up the badge before hand!

For the rear, I had to use a flathead screwdriver behind the exterior trim to break off the two pins holding the badge on. Clipped off the rear two pins on the type r badge and sanded it down till flat to fit flush on.

Washed off with car soap, then used alcohol to clean it all. Sorry, another no after photo of it cleaned. I cannot find it!

Also no installed close-up photo, but you'll see it in next pic.

Ass in de air to install Spoon N1. Pretty much bolt on, nice fitment.

    Stock - Spoon N1

    Specs: Stock/Spoon

Inlet: 4*mm - Spoon's a few mm wider (Forgot exact numbers - not measured from the flange part, from the actual pipe)
    Exhaust tip: 45mm - 63mm
    Weight: Approx. 4.9kg - 3.0 kg

    WD40 in the reflection.

    From behind shot.

    More tomorrow maybe

    In my pants...

This time I got genuine Spoon side stickers.

Valve caps from Ebay, one dollar a set, only 1 DOLLA each shipped!
Got blue for da Jazz, and red for da EG.

Went to JDMYARD EOY Meet last Saturday. Put on them Regas right before the meet.

Decided to roll up at the same time with another blue GD, looking cute together, ay?

You can view moar pics from the meet here.

Who would like me to do a test in the drags, OEM alloys vs Regamasters, in the name of science. Would lighter wheels at 4kg per corner really make a difference in acceleration?
If I was to do a test, it would have to be comprehensive, eg, start with the stockies first, get an alignment before, do 'x' number of runs, and repeat, with the Regas using the same tyres.

    What do you guys reckon?

In regards to future mods of the Jazz, looking to get a front strut bar and a rear sway bar, apart from coilovers, that's pretty much all really, for a daily.
